I’ve got a 97 528i P0340 problem. Replaced cam position sensor with new one (dorman)
CEL still comes on. After starting I can clear the code and drive around light stays off. Start engine same routine, light comes on, clear it and stays off.

Bad sensor or other problem? A lot of posts point to a lot of aftermarket sensors don’t work

Chiinese is an old and highly evolved language. It has quite a few words for "Garbage" . Dorman and Uro are two of them. Take that P.O.S. back, and order a genuine BMW sensor.
