Good day. E-46 xi. The heater blower fan not working. I have checked fuses, all good. Checked power at blower fan, with test light, power here. Would it safe to assume blower fan out? Just checking in case I missed something.
Another weird thing, looking things over is the motor housing suppose to be energized? IMG_0661.jpg Maybe hard to see, but end of test light is touching motor housing. The other end hooked to ground. Should motor housing be energized?
I pulled fan motor out hot wired it works. So would next step be blower resistor pack? Any one out there?

OK. I put motor back. While digging into resistor, fan kicked in loose wire I guess!
On any E46, if the blower doesn't work, and the fuse is good, I just go ahead and replace the final stage resistor. Further diag is a waste of the customer's money, because the FSR is an absurdly common failure part. In ? ~200 FSR replacements, I might have been wrong once.....maybe even twice?
My 2 cents.
