Evap Purge Control Valve - line repair question

Just a simple question, I worked on the 330 xi today, long story short....... I broke a plastic elbow in a breather line.
The line is coming from the evap purge control valve (sitting under the front edge of the intake manifold), passing under the airfilter housing and going to the wheel well wall. Which is where the 90 degree hard plastic elbow sits. That's the piece I broke.

How should I fix it? Get a generic breather line plastic elbow and splice it in the line? Or can I get away with just putting a longer piece of breather line instead of a 90 degree elbow and curve it for the direction change?

I know, it's a silly question, but sometimes it's worth it to get somebody elses input.

Are you talking about part #4 HERE ?

If so, I would just find some rubber hose and slide it over both ends.

Yes dworthy, that's the part. The elbow doesn't sit right at the valve but it's the same line anyway.
Thanks for your reply, I know it's a stupid question, just wasn't sure if that plastic elbow serves another purpose which I'm not aware of.
