Why the hate for Beyern wheels?

I’ve been doing a lot of searching/reading because I need a set of 15” wheels for my i car. I really like the look of the mesh style but I keep reading negative stuff. Typical things like “I have a set of Beyern mesh on now (please no hate it’s only temporary)”

    A couple of hooptys
There's nothing wrong with Beyern. The wheels themselves are made by TSW, which isn't a notably high end wheel manufacturer, though you'd be hard pressed to ever break one during normal driving. Much emphasis is put on having either period correct wheels, or a variant of BBS', such as the RS line. That being said, many of those wheels are getting so expensive and rare these days that they cost more than your car. There are also a lot of "replica" wheel manufacturers out there (mostly sticking to replicating a BBS-style wheel, one of the more desirable styles), some of which are decent, daily-driver quality. Ironically, many people giving Beyern negative comment are running replica wheels, which are gratuitously affixed with a BBS center cap . If I were to give Beyern one bad rap, it's simply that they're mass-produced, so there isn't much uniqueness to their styling. You don't have to look far to find another E30 with Beyern Mesh wheels. As long as that doesn't bother you, there is nothing wrong with rocking a set.

Because most people don't like the way they look. Rarely is any choice in car modifications a logical decision, they're all emotional.

If you like the wheels, then you should proudly rock the wheels.
If your e30 runs bad, switch to Megasquirt first. Then try new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oxygen sensor, crank shaft position sensor, coolant temp sensor, air flow meter, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, digital motor electronics unit, harmonic balancer, fuel injectors, engine harness...

People hate everything that isn't stock or 80s BBS.

Beyern Mesh seems to be the new Ronal LS.
