    Exhaust

I got a 1998 bmw 528i and i was thinking to add a nut between the exhaust pipe and the muffler to create a gap and make a louder sound. what do u guys think?

So you're deliberately creating an exhaust leak? Seems silly, just do a muffler delete.

Basically remove the muffler, and run a straight-pipe with tips!
Are you going to be happy with that sound?

It would certainly be louder if you did that, but I don't think it would be the sound you were looking for. Lots of options, some better than others, but that's got to be one of the worst.

Agree with all the above. I can only assume that it would sound like a car with a hole in the exhaust - not a "good" sound - more of a "sounds like something's wrong" sound since the exhaust air/gasses wouldn't be flowing smoothly.
