The problem is the transfer of the fuel from the one side of the tank to the other. When the left side is drained, the car stops, while the right side has over 25 litres. The suction pump in the tank has been changed and the fuel sensors were checked, both working fine. The pump, which should transfer the fuel, buzzes and transfers the fuel, but that fuel circulates and returns to the same side of the tank while the other side still stays empty. The pumps are new and the fuel sensors are working, so the cars works only when there’s fuel in that one side of the tank.

Is the fuel returning from the fuel pressure regulator? Without a return flow the surge tank will not replenish - more info here:

Thank you for your replies. I must state that this is a diesel. The problem is that all the fuel goes to the right side. The suction pump fills only the right side.
