Hey everyone,
I've been lurking for quite some time around several BMW forums.. playing with coding, etc. Just as a background, I have 10-15 years of shade tree experience, and my brother has been fixing BMW's on the side for several years, so we sort-of know our heads from our ass I guess.
Problem: Radiator cooling fan will not kick on. Even tried swapping in new fan, tested fan on an e70 and it fired, so I know it's not the fan.
Things we have tried: Turning on A/C,Jumping the coolant temp sensor, Tried the different fan obviously, also did our best to run through the fuse box.. The A/C is charged with plenty of freon, and the car just will not turn the fan on.
I have plenty of tools and a multimeter, we are just stumped and have been searching the internet now for about 2-3 days, troubleshooting through threads and nothing seems to help. If anyone has something to try, PLEASE let us know!
car is manufactured 06/07, so it does not have the relay in trunk
Have you tried manually activating it with diagnostic tools to check for function?

Yep.....that's where you need to be. There's no "jumping" the fan on a late BMW; they are activated only by pulse width modulation from the DME. The fan already has full time hot and full time ground. There's no testing this without a top of the line BMW specific diag computer.
