Friends, looking for some advice.....there is a 01 dark grey m3 vert with 75k in near mint condition available that i may go take a look at this weekend. I think i can grab it for $12,500.00 ......i currently drive a 01 330xi with 120k and love the car but it has rust on the body and its hard justifying the maintenance expense. Would many of you guys tell me to steer clear from the early model e46 and convertable?? I would seriously buy a hard top immediately....i suppose a test drive will show me how "non rigid" these things really are?
One word. Pre-Purchase-Inspection. OK, three word.

"M" Stands for Money, so best to find what car is lacking and how much more it will cost to bring it up to speed. Also the maintenance costs will run about a 1/3 more in comparison to the 330i.

Sometime it is just cheaper to keep what you currently have. The M3 for 6 months costs me more to operate than my other 2 BMW's, and that includes insurance too. It is a fun car to have when new to daily drive, but as they age expensive stuff like the VANOS, start to break.
