thermostat housing 10mm bolt threaded

Hey guys i need some help!! now
I was fitting on the new t-stat housing and i set the torque wrench to the wrong setting and i have now stripped the thread in the head..

Well the thread size on that bolt is an M6x1.00

Options:
Try to tap it 1/4-20

Get a heli coil for the M6x1.00 and fix the thread.

Go up a size to M7

I would take it out and try retreading it. If it seems to rethread, I would reinstall it with blue loctite. If it holds the correct torque, I would leave it. If it does not you will have to go up one size or helicoil.

Another idea would be to install a M6 threaded stud, hopefully, there would be clean threads further down that are not stripped. Add some blue Loctite and you would be golden.

Thanks lads never done a helicoil but it seems like the way to go.
Any tips ?? The bolt is out do i need to drill it out or just rethread it ?

I thought my M6x1.0 Vanos attachment bolts were stripped at one time because I had an oil leak that I could not diagnose. I re-threaded the holes to M7 and used exhaust manifold/head interface studs with exhaust manifolds nuts. The holes in the Vanos and gasket were already generous enough that I didn't need to enlarge them. I was lucky enough that the tap and die set I had contained the correct M7 tap.

Just make sure you get the drill and STI tap for the insert

Fixed lads
The thermostat housing thread is about 7mm longer then the standard bolt
I just ran the tap through it to clean it up and put a slightly longer bolt in it with some thread locker.
