Low rumbling noise from transmission/drive shaft area

    Good evening.
Recently I have had an issue where I will hear a low growling/rumbling noise from underneath the console area while accelerating on 3rd-4th gear. After the noise is heard, I get a stutter in the power delivery, then the car accelerates as normal. This happens twice on each run to 60mph.
It has proven difficult to hear the sound on the vid I made, so I decided not to upload it..

It could be the pressure plate or flywheel. Try pressure plate by engaging in second gear with parking brake fully engaged, then slowly release clutch, it should stall if not, your pressure plate is worn out. If it is flywheel you should have some others symptoms as well ... like vibrations even when car is in neutral.

Either flex disc or the center support bearing. Sounds more like the center support bearing.

Sounds promising. When I look up the symptoms for center support bearing issues, the explanation sounds similar. Ill have it looked at this weekend to be sure.

I assume you've checked your engine and transmission mounts, too?

Not yet. Is there a method to check it which is straightforward for a layman? I havent had the space to jack my car up in my garage (recently moved) so I have not done any heavy duty work which requires lifting the car up in a few months

Lifting it is step one. The engine mounts, when bad, will have leaked a dark colored hydraulic oil, and will be significantly compressed. Trans mounts are easier to inspect visually, as they appear squashed if they’re worn out.

I’ll be trying the above post out today.
For reference, this video has the sound I speak of
    https://youtu.be/6LGyZGUAVWg
I also get an RPM dip after each time the rumbling comes on.
Finally, when accelerating slowly, the car jerks/shudders until gas is pressed more firmly.
