    Weird e36 misfire/non idle issue

I recently changed the spark plugs in my 1993 318is. I changed them because when I bought the car I put in NGK bkr6egp, the car ran and drove fine. I later learned these are not the recommended plugs for the car, the recommended plugs are NGK bkr6ek. I put in 4 brand new bkr6ek plugs, and the car wouldn't idle and had a pretty bad misfire, which concerned me since the car was running perfectly fine a couple days before (hadn't started it in a couple days before doing it) I checked the boots and everything was fine, I pulled the plugs to see if the gap may have gotten messed up, but it wasn't. I thought I may have gotten a defective plug, so I bought 4 new bkr6ek plugs and installed them and I am having the same no idle/misfire issue as before. I'm not sure if it could be coil packs or wires, since it was running fine a couple days before like I said, the issue only started after I installed the plugs I am at a complete loss as to what to do, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

    Return the unacceptable plugs,
and purchase a new set of bkr6egp,
as the engine preferred, and ran fine with them!

    Weird e36 misfire/non idle issue

www.realoem.com does list NGK BKR 6 EK and BOSCH F 7 LDCR as the proper (dual conductor) plugs.
Additionally, it also lists BOSCH FGR7DQP and NGK BKR6EQUP as superseded (quad conductor) part numbers. Realoem also lists BMW p/n 12120037607, and when I search that p/n Bosch FGR7DQP is cross referenced.
That said does reinstalling the old plugs clear the issue?
If not, how old are the spark plug wires? Inspect them for cracks and or tears in the boots. Perhaps they got damaged when the plugs where replaced due to the age of the rubber boots and wire covering. Cracks can develop in the old rubber of the boots as the boot is pulled from the plug.
Depending where the cracks develop, lifting the hood at night can reveal obvious signs of arcing or leaking voltage from the wires.
