    Trying to clean my rags/towels

    I’ve searched.

how do folks clean their wax filled microfiber rags or towels?

my wife hates it when I use the washing machine with all my various towels and detailing products.

Prewash them in a bucket before putting them in the washing machine.

Clean them in a sink/bucket first with Dawn/etc to remove as much wax. They make special microfiber detergent for washing machine too.

^This. You want to use some sort of degreaser like Dawn or similar dishwashing soaps to cut the wax. Pre-soak and clean in Dawn and hot water first then run them through the laundry machine.

There are microfiber wash products that work well. I use Blackfire's MF wash. Unscented wash detergent(Tide Free and Gentle, etc) also is an alternative.

I use Purple Power and a bucket to get the wax and grime out then a trip through the washing machine.
Something I learned the hard way when using the family clothes washer for garage stuff is to wipe the drum and especially the door seal clean, then wash another load of clean garage towels in HOT water. Then it ought to be safe for the Mrs.' frilly things.

I have the same issue - will give Purple Power a try. Has to be cheaper than simply replacing towels and less contentious within the home.
