Hello. Seems like i've shortened Transmission Input/Turbine Speed Sensor and now my transmission running in fail/safe mode.
Should i wait till it dries up, or is it necessary, to disconnect battery?
I've already cleaned codes several times, but problem still is there. 2 hours passed after wash.
Thank you in advance for your help!
p.s. The car has 121 000 km mileage. it is japan export version
I’d definitely disconnect the ground/earth cable from the battery. Then wait a day or so to see what happens. Did you use a power washer or a garden hose?
i've used karcher high pressure washer, to remove slight dirt/salt after snow. Going to check now if it dried up. Thanks
No it's still in fail/safe mode. Have to move 28 kilometers till home garage and after i'll disconnect battery for whole night.
If you got water into the connectors, which sounds likely, you ought to unplug and dry them as best as you can with compressed air and then perhaps some WD40. If they remain wet and corrode the problem won't go away.
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
After talking to transmission mechanic, i've been told to drive some time, so connectors will dry up, as transmission gets hot. And he was right! All errors have gone, but transmission is still in failsafe program mode. I have some cheap obd2 bluetooth module and seems like i can't do much with this device. Is there any way to reset failsafe program mode without professional diagnostic equipment? I've heard foot down on pedal and moving key to 2 position and after releasing it and starting engine will reset it. Not sure if it works, but i'll try it tomorrow morning.
Ok guys next day, i reset transmission fail/safe program, and everything went fine. Seems like it just "remembers" that something was wrong, until you go to service center to check if everything is ok.
So be careful if you are washing your car's underneath. there are plenty of sensors, you might not want to get wet.
Thanks for help.
Do you have a link to this device that you used to wash the undercarriage of your BMW?
