Hi everyone,
I have a kenwood KMM-X50BT head unit (came with the car) which only has outputs for the front and rear OR sub. I recently bought an active sub, some speakers, and an amp for the speakers (was a used bundle for very cheap, but everything works). Is there any way for me to set up the speakers and the sub from the same output? Could I split the output and send it to both the sub and amp and just use the lpf on the sub? Or does the HUs output setting (rear or sub) change the signal it outputs.
If you need me to provide anymore info I'm more than happy to.
Cheers,
Prawnflakes
I checked the owners manual. The head unit has outputs for the front speakers, and rear speakers or a sub.
Here’s the manual: http://manual.kenwood.com/files/GET0993-001A.pdf
Yeah but the point is I have 2 sets of rear speakers I need to send output to, the sub and the speakers. should I just connect the second set of rear speakers to the front output? Or do I need to purchase a new HU with seperate rear and sub outputs.
Connect the rear non-sub speakers to the head unit. Then, tap the wires going to those speakers and run wires to a sub amp that accepts speaker level inputs.
