Hey guys. My Dad's 530xi started acting up in the cold weather, specifically the battery started dying. If it sits more than a day without driving, it dies. Time for a new one. I went over to see what he has so I can source a new battery. I haven't decided how or where to register the new battery but if I can use one of my contacts to get it done cheap or free, I will. Anyway, I had to pull the battery out because I couldn't see any writing on it. Lo and behold there was no writing on it... nothing at all! It has a black top and gray case. Is this an AGM or FLA? I've heard the 95R-DLG from Autozone is a good replacement, but it's not an AGM.
What do you guys think is the best way to proceed? Since I don't know what's in the car now, I think I'm forced to register the new battery. Since I have to do that, should I just go with the 95R from Autozone and register it with those specs?

It's not rocket science, so why stress over it? Since you can't determine the old battery specs, just buy the 95R-DLG from Autozone, register it, and move on with your life.
