Hi guys I finally got round to looking at the mess the last owner of my vehicle left at the rear end of the exhaust and it's not great. All studs are rotten (why they tied the exhaust up with wire not the hangers) one of them was bent where they have tried to remove it and the nut wouldn't come off. And one of them is snapped. After looking around I see these studs are welded or apart of the car body and welding a new kne is the only option which is fine but my question is how do you get them out?
Attached picture to show which studs/bolts I'm talking about

Hi Fikemoo,
I inherited a similar mess with my 1999 323ic. I purchased the new brackets (one on either side of the muffler) @ Rockauto.com and resorted to using my Dremel Tool to shave the heads off the old bolts (inside the trunk, it was easy). Once the heads were off the bolts fell through to the floor. I cleaned up the area nice, primed and painted the surrounding metal and picked up new stainless bolts, nuts, washers and lock washers at the hardware store and put it all back together. Good luck!
