Hi guys
Need some advice before tomorrow... if possible.
My car started fine as per usual, no slow crank or anything. Stopped after about 30kms at a shop and the car won't start. Everything goes and looks normal, but I hear only a few relay type of clicks and nothing.
Got a push and running start works.
Went straight to a battery and exhaust garage. Car woth running motor shows charge. Battery checks out fine.
Phoned auto electrician and he suggested strongly that it is the starter. Which I so happened to have had replaced about 3 years ago. He says that it can go in two to three years. Although the last time I did have slower crank and two stops later it was dead.
Any advice would be seriously appreciated.
Update: The car does start when it is cooled down.
The next time the no-start condition occurs, give the starter a good rap with a soft mallet. If that “cures” the issue the starter is suspect. What brand of starter was installed.
