Looking for 2nd car to alleviate having to drive in circles to drop everyone off to work in the mornings. Beginner DIYer so not really looking for fixer uppers. Willing to take on higher mileage (max ~160k). If some repairs are needed, an outline of what needs to be done will be helpful and I will work to get things addressed on my own.

Good luck getting one for $3000.

Mine is 2000 Silver/Black and runs great the best car I have ever owned. Very strong runner/fast 400HP with no problems at 187k miles. It had 117k miles on it when I bought it in 2012. Has some minor dings and digits/LED's need fixing as they do. I don't bother fixing as is the beauty of driving an older car. Its had a new clutch about 15k back and a new radiator/belts about 4k miles ago. 85pc Tires and 10/60W Castrol Edge Oil change every 3K.
The only reason I would sell is we have 3 cars and a Z71 Truck. One of the cars is a 1992 E31 850i with 110k miles and it goes great and will increase in value faster than the 2000 M5.
I will look for another M5 perhaps a 2009 with the V10 525HP engine.
