need some serious help with my 2012 x5 e70 35i.
had issues with steering angle sensor i was not getting any reading on diagnostic so i got a used just to try and it worked.
i was able to get the angle reading in order to do the procedure on the ista diagnostic.
the problem came when i was trying to code the unit in the dsc i think i might have accidentally have coded the cas also.
now theres no more welcoming lights ,no ignition,remote key doesnt work, rear tailgate door lock not working.
the key doesnt seem to slide in the on position like before and also no power on terminal 15.
what have i done....
could it be the cas module or something else?
I'd have to hope that you did a complete car coding, and that the voltage never dropped below 13 or went above 15.. Other than that, recode again, and ask ISTA why the computers are pissed off. You absolutely MUST run a proper battery maintainer during any coding and programming process.

cas module is dead for sure... what kind of tools do you have on hand? If you need to I can repair cas if you don't have equipment to do so... These vehicle are VERY sensitive to voltage while programming. Can't be a noisy charger like on a dodge or ford whatever. Needs to be regulated DC POWER SUPPLY. If voltage drops below 13 or over 15 you are in trouble!

yes that was my biggest mistake the battery fell bellow 13v and the session ended will i was coding angle sensor to dsc.so i hooked a charger to it and tried again this is were things went south.i recall i saw cas being programmed.
ive tried to bridge pin16 to 1 in the obd to get voltage on terminal 15.it worked.
i enter the programming mode it says cannot identify vehicle and something about to import vehicle order.

i cannot access the computers.its saying cannot identify vehicle.
I have the same problem, do you know what happens?
Do a battery reset and then try to identify the vehicle thru basic features using ista/d. I will also tell you that the FRM's are easily ruined.

These cars are packed full of electronics, and over time will fail, so you will need to have the car scanned for codes first to see what has gone wrong.
