New ignition - new coil required?

So, I installed new plugs and new wires along with new cap and rotor. I feel like I should get a new coil? Am I crazy to think that the new ignition parts won’t be operating to potential if I don’t get a new coil?

car runs nice but wouldn’t complain about a bit more power up around 5-6k rpms...

You can try it, but unless you're experiencing a specific issue I wouldn't think the coil is going to make a difference.

    Ok thanks.

i read that the coil should read .05ohm across posts and 5,000ohm from center to posts? I’m getting .15 and 10,100

Yep. That sounds like you need to replace the coil.
