I have been trying for ages to solve my "additive mixture adaptation..." error with no luck. Used a brake cleaner to try to find a vacuum leak, but nothing happens when spraying it on. But now got some brand new errors about misfiring. Any idea what could be those, are they related somehow to the mixture error? Thx!
Errors:
DME* -> 1C/00 - Additive mixture adaptation, bank 1, control limit reached
1D/00 - Additive mixture adaptation, bank 2, control limit reached
3E/00 - Misfiring at several cylinders
32/00 - Misfire detection, cyl. 1
33/00 - Misfire detection, cyl. 5
34/00 - Misfire detection, cyl. 4
39/00 - Misfire detection, cyl. 2
Misfires that are predominantly on one bank are usually due to the failure of one of the catalytic converters - more info here:

Chase - Heroes to a generation
A simple test may be to unplug the MAF and see if anything changes. I had adaptation limits for months. Even an aftermarket MAF didn't fix it I had to buy a OEM MAF for $400. It was on Timm's advice. It got so bad that I thought at one point it was the transmission.
I have just put in an aftermarket MAF (Bremi), could they be that bad? I mean I had the same error before putting in the new MAF, it just didnt make any change. Somehow doubt an original BMW one would matter.

Thanks, checking it out!
I know I thought the same thing. I tried three different MAF's with no change, I even tried a VW MK4. Timm recommended an OEM. I bit the bullet and the CEL has been off for months. You can always return it if it doesn't fix the problem. Maybe someone has a used OEM MAF, they might let it go for less than $400?
I have a used OEM maf if interested
You werent kidding, this is really $389 https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...z8-13621433567
Would buy it if solve the problem, but not sure if I could return it if not.

I went with a Bosch one erased codes and will make a 200 miles trip over the weekend. Curious if the 'adaptive mixture' error comes back. I can send it back in 90 days if not solving the issue.
These misfires seem to be happening very often lately...Timm pointed me to my cats being worn out...he was right. Good luck and I hope it's nothing seriou$$$.
