Good day
looking for advice on sway bars to purchase ASAP. I am currently running with HOD and PDG and maybe one day compete.
car was originally my sons 318 that came with the M50 vanos motor.
i had a blast installing turbo 6 months ago.
recently installed ZF tranny and 318 lsd diff. Welded in all rear subframe supports and installed M3 rear components.
6 puck 1 series brakes in front and also installed oil cooler. Also BR coil overs
i am hopeful to improve cornering before next week, if I can make it.
on sweeping corners I feel the back end wants to break loose as well as the whole car push/ I believe understeer.
Im also looking for advice on rear lower control arms to allow more camber, currently m3 stock
Lots going on there.
For your last question, Turner Motorsports adjustable LCA's.
As for ARBs, most run a larger adjustable front bar and OEM rear. But, it's a big depends. The ARB should be for fine tuning, and if you're still running stock rear camber, you've got more than fine tuning to do. Spring rates, ride height, camber will make the biggest differences. And tires of course.
I you can see, I have a long way to go , lot to learn.
Turner LCA with bushings or without?
gonna start with LCA s and have realignment with proper track camber.
with camber I could lower car possible 1 more inch.
i am correct lower is Better?
currently running BC BR coil overs. Any suggestions on spring changes?
thanks for feedback
I'd recommend the Turner LCA's with rubber bushings.
Lower is better up to a point,....too low and you're on the bump stops and/or your roll center is too low. Rake is more important than getting crazy low. Most recommend about 0.75" rake (rear higher) measured somewhere around the car lift points between the wheels. Lowering the car around an 1" from stock is a safe amount. Springs depend on what you're using the car for, tires, and dampers. If you're just starting tracking, use what you've got. Do you know what your current rates are?
What tires are you running?
FYI, this car will do VERY VERY well with a fresh OEM suspension and OEM brakes. All it really needs to come alive is a little extra front camber.
