The turn signal on my 1991 318i does not work for both the left and right signal. However there is a buzzing noise when the hazard switch is pressed. There is no signal light indication on the dashboard. All the lights work including the headlights, bright headlights, parking lights, brake lights and side marker lights. I've replaced the turn signal relay. I have checked and changed the fuse. I also changed the hazard switch with a slightly different one. The original switch was part #61311381176. I ordered a replacement switch that was supposed to be a fit for my vehicle and received part #61311367341. This switch gives me a different indication. There is still no right or left turn signal however the right turn signal works (front and rear and dashboard) when the hazard switch is pressed. I suspect I need to try another hazard switch. But could it be the turn signal stalk?

It could be the stalk, but that buzzing usually indicates a bad relay.
