    ZF vs Getrag?

Reading this topic on swapping tranny:
    https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...n-my-m50-525iT

It says that 91-92 uses ZF and later uses GetRag

If I have 94 and I have 92 donor (pre-vanos), will it work?

P.S. I did compare Realoem for clutch/flywheel - identical parts. Even tranny is identical in realoem. However, engines show difference (as expected)
So, what is true about transmissions?

So long as the transmission, driveshaft, shifter, crossmember, etc all came from the same car, it'll fit just fine.

    Same slave cyl. too.

I was checking realoem and it was saying auto and manual trans used same giubo. At least the same as zf tans giubo. Any confirmation?

Are zf for 328i 96+ input shaft the same as getrag? Sorry to hijack slightly, but I'm putting a getrag box of a 318is 96 onto a m52b28 with hopefully a 240mm twin disc from dkm ready for forced induction. Just trying to confirm as company who's been helping is asking me and I don't have a zf around

Zf is same as auto. Getrag is different.
If I were to give my Touring a first name, I'd probably name it "Alan".
