Looks like it's in Nevada, even though they posted it in Austin:
burnt orange 1979 (early) 323i for sale on craigslist for $12k (delivered)
doesn't seem like that high of a price if it's pretty clean.

Good Lord, Dave... you scared the crap out of me! I thought you were selling yours.
I also feel like this has been here before... been sitting forever in NV somewhere. Kinda a tall order for a non runner.

I think it runs? Parked in a few different spots anyway. Plus that porsche implies someone who knows their way around CIS.
It's pretty close if someone needs eyes on it/wants to cover my gas hahahah

Asking 12k but can only give us 3 pics? Booo
cgifool,
Where do you see a, "...pop-up cassette tape storage thing." ?
It looks like a very nice car.
Since you have questions, I own the car it runs great, not sure how you got Non running out of the listing?? Was owned by a German mechanic who owned Homewood auto repair in Tahoe until he retired a few years ago and GAVE me the car for helping him clean up the property. Since then I've had the water pump and timing belt and all fluids changed just because it had been sitting. He had Alzheimer and didn't drive for a few years. 143,000 original miles on it, fresh paint job of factory original color. New carpet kit, and Sony speakers and stereo. No rust as a desert car. Posted it in Texas because they like the color! Roll tide I hate orange!

Looks like a great deal for someone richer than I! Thanks for updating with more photos

I've driven every e21 model over the past 30 years and the 323i -in it's original form w/K jet- is the most satisfying overall driving experience. They really come into their own at interstate speeds.
Rust free originals will continue to increase in desirability and command higher values. Our Euro Bimmer Brothers are already hoarding these gems!
'Topaz brown' is a rare color and folks tend to either love it or hate it. (Reminds me of a Redline Hot Wheels color)
Teeski70 -you're asking top dollar for the US Market. At least post additional photos on your CL ad to include the interior, undercarriage and wheels.

Additional photos have been added to the CL ad.
Not a huge fan of the color, but your logic makes perfect sense to post it here in Austin!! I wish mine was half as clean as this.
yeah I don't know where I saw the pop-up cassette holder. it was one that holds them in a console around the parking brake lever.
Maybe on mobile.de - I always troll that site looking for 323s for sale in Europe. or maybe facebook?
Nice car my 78 323i is slightly earlier - I checked the vins. What is up with the trailer hitch thing under the car?
Any rust in the quarters or shock towers? The e30 M3s are sky high, I am hoping that the e21 323i will rise for the rare classic nature of the car.
I swapped my engine and cis injection to a built 3.0 liter and shaved the engine bay.
