Hi all, I had some questions regarding ride heights and clearance issues. My 98 328is is currently on Bilstein sports (b8s) with H&R sport springs in the front and oem springs in the rear. I have a square set of D-Force LTW5s in 17x8.5 et40 wrapped in 245/40r17s. I don't plan on lowering the car much lower than it is now, but I really want to reduce the wheel gap. The car has lost some weight and it sits higher than before. I have a 2 finger gap front and rear and would like to cut that down to about 1/2"-3/4" with the PSS9s.
My main concern is having my front tires rubbing on the coilover. Since I don't plan on dropping the car very low, will I run into that problem? I really don't want to run a spacer in the front because I feel like the tire will come into contact with my fender. I would also like to stick to a 245/40r17 so dropping down a tire size isn't ideal.
The other question I have is about the ride height in the rear? Whats the maximum height I would be able to achieve in the rear? Can I get it to where there is a 1/2" gap between the tire and the fender?
I'd appreciate any help you guys can offer. Thanks!
I have same setup, 17x8.5 fit on front with 245-40-17 without spacers with my PSS9’s. I keep ride height all the way up on the fronts. 17x9 wheels generally need spacers.
