Hello ,
who does not know that, the annoying problem with the wiper linkage on the E31, E32, E34,E38 and E39 the bearings on the passenger side or driver's side are knocked out.
Therefore, scrapes the wiper arm sometime on the hood.
There is the possibility to repair the wiper linkage!
Is there interest in a Wiper Linkage Repair Set?
greetings from Germany
René

I'm interested! The passenger wiper arm on both my e32s is starting to scrape the hood. I saw your recent reply in the main e34 forum. Is wear of the powdered metal bronze bushings the root cause of the problem? A few people have mentioned the rubbing of the wiper arm causes the bushings to wear down longitudinally, and that slight yielding of the metal linkage arms over time is what actually causes the wiper arm to sit in a higher position. I've never removed a wiper linkage assembly from an e34/e32 so I don't know for sure. What percentage oil content sintered bronze do you use for the replacement bushings?
I'm in!!
You are right about the wear of the sockets on the passenger side to the scraping of the wiper arm .
Sintered bronze bearings (DIN 1850/3 or ISO 2795 standard)
For info :
Sintered bronze bearings (DIN 1850/3 or ISO 2795 standard)
Self-lubricating, oil-soaked
Sintered plain bearings consist of a metal powder, which is sintered (pressed) in a mold under high pressure and temperature to the finished part.
During the sintering process, the individual powder grains merge at the points of contact, so that a solid, yet porous component is formed. These pores can be soaked with an oil.
By adhesion forces, the oil is delivered to the rotating shaft and taken back from storage at standstill by the capillary forces.
Sintered plain bearings are thus self-lubricating and maintenance-free.
" I hope my english is reasonably understandable "
Oh, something else :
In the original two or three bushings are installed on the driver's side (depending on the production of the linkage: Bosch or SWF) and on the passenger side two books.
1 set consists of 4 matching bushings.
Two bearing bushes for the drivers (these two bushings are longer, so that almost all of the available space of the hole is used) and two bushings for the passenger side (there it is the same).
The set is applicable to both manufacturers.
Furthermore, the set is suitable both for wiper linkage with and without contact pressure adjustment.

I'd be interested depending upon the pricing.
For info :
You can recognize defective bearings on the wiper linkage on it =
On the passenger side should be about 5 mm to 6 mm air between wiper arm and hood.
On picture one the distance is correct, on picture 2 the play in the bearing bushes on the passenger side is too big, so that the wiper linkage pushes against the hood.
But you can also press with your fingers on the upper edge of the wiper arm, if then the arm can be pressed closer to the disc (a kind of tilting occurs then) and moves the shaft then the bearings are defective.
Wrong distance :
Right distance :
