    Pierburg Pump Question

Looking to retrofit a Pierburg CWA 200 or 400 water pump into my street/strip project car. And issue I have come across is that I can't find any dealers have have one in stock to tell me what size in/out hoses they use or what their dimensions are. Is there anybody here that can help me? Much thanks!!!!!

I don't have the answer and am just curious why you don't use the pump engineered for the engine. What model car and engine is it?

On-the-block water pumps and supercharger belts have a tendency to have a conflict of space Mezeire makes remote mount water pumps that flow 55 GPM free flow, but the motors are known to burn out within 2 years. I know a pierburg is worst-case good for 30,000 OEM miles and all-around would be better for my situation. Probably last 5-10 years in my case.

With a part # you can discover applications. With applications you'll be able see the hoses that attach to it. Hose dimensions may be given in part's description, if not somebody surely carries hoses and could measure them.
    Try sniffing around at realoem.com

Problem I have run into is that it seems that PN's keep changing, thanks for that link. I'd like to have actual dimensions of the pump as I'm mounting it directly under the radiator on the core support.

Are there any members here or sponsoring repair shops that would happen to have a pump handy? If somebody has a failed core, I would love to buy one for mockup purposes.....

Here is my build thread, currently on page 16 about to be 17: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...d-process.html

A couple things you could do. Edit your forum signature so that it specifies your needs. And/or, post a wanted ad in the appropriate sub-forum of the Classifieds here on Bimmerforums.

I have created a classifieds post.

Not sure where the signature would help, it's going into a supercharged dodge race truck. I just don't want to pay $600 for a pump to find out it will not plumb in or otherwise physically work for my situation. Hence I am in pursuit of the pump's actual dimensions and what size the hose fittings are. I've contacted several vendors and none of them keep the pumps in stock, they all drop ship.

I'm glad you took my suggestion of utilizing our Classifieds. A tonload of people come through that area but never really post, so it may appear slow but the area gets a lot of exposure.

The point in a placing a 'mini-ad' in your signature would expose your needs to every person that sees a forum post of yours in every sub-forum.

I did some hunting, looks like the CWA400 is 40mm in and out. 1-1/2" hose is 38mm, that's alot to ask of a hose to stretch but should be doable without it splitting. Still have yet to find any definite pump dimensions

I've heard of people buying an item and if it didn't work out, return it. Not suggesting that you buy something with the intent of making some measurements and returning it......
