    2006 325ci lighting questions

Hi, I am quite new to being a BMW owner (and absolutely love it) so please forgive my ignorance on specific details, part names, etc. I am reaching out for some modifications I have been looking to make in regards to my front head lights.

Angel eyes have always caught my attention and I finally have the time to look into it. The overall plan would be to black out the light casing and put the eyes in to give them more of a pop. Here is the tricky part. I always hated how when you have your actual headlights on, the angel eyes just blend into the light, making them less obvious. The solution in my mind was to take out the bulbs from the head lights (or just make them not function) and replace the light they put out with new HID fog lights.

I was wondering if this would even be possible, legal, or a good idea at all? I just want to have that dramatic angel eye look while still being able to have visibility. I also can't seem to find the right HID fog lights for my car so any clues towards those would be very appreciated!

Thank you so much for reading and any information at all!

    Welcome to the Forum!

I would say that it is illegal to modify the lights the way you want. Turn off the daytime running light, that would fix the problem, and only have the angle eyes on during the daytime. Also if you get LED type, they will be much brighter than you think.

I have attached a photo of my M3 with parking lights on and angle eyes from these guys: https://www.umnitza.com/angel-eyes-b...th-remote.html

I have a question about wiring the angel lights on e46.
Why should we tap into the dme?
Can the lights still work without dme connectivity if we need the fade in effect?
My angel lights are directly connected to the parking light wiring and work fine. But I need that fade in and out when I lock and unlock. I have a relay that I can use with some loose cables but need to know which line to plug where on the relay.
The relay is labeled 30A somewhere.

You don't need to tap into the LCM to get them to work properly, it's just using the power from the DME switch to turn them on/off. I am sure there are other power lines that would work too, I just followed the instructions that came with the kit. I didn't attached the lock/unlock for I was lazy at the time of install.

    Thank you Dworthy.
I checked some guides and found the corresponding pins on the relay.
It's an old thread on the bimmerforums.
