Happy new year everyone. Not been here in a while as things have been running ok with the 735i. Now recently in the cold weather I first noticed the drivers external door handle 'stick' in the opened position when attempting to open the door which I thought I would remedy with a bit of spray grease. Before I got round to doing this a new problem developed.
Basically the the doorpin on the drivers door does not rise enough for the door to be locked whilst all other doors unclock from driver and passengers doors. I now have to enter the car by opening the rear door and manually pulling up the door lock pin up on the drivers door.
I'm about to pull the doorcard off just wondering if anyone has experienced this issue before and maybe tell me what part of the mechanism has likely failed.
Most likely the plastic grommets in the lock system, I posted the part numbers here https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...light=grommets

Brilliant thanks. BMW still do them at 40p each but will need to be ordered from Germany. Also found out the price for the tail light gasket and that was a shocker at £24 + vat for one.
