Hi all, 2 months ago the water pump on my 05 645ci went out so i replaced it. Along with the water pump i put on a new water pump feed pipe (the small black pipe leading from the top of the water pump to the top of the valley pan right under the throttle body) all was good until a couple of days ago when i got a low coolant light. Upon inspection i have isolated the leak to the water pump feed pipe that i just replaced. I have no problem replacing this, but my concern is that this leak from a brand new pipe is indicative of a larger issue, i.e. the infamous coolant transfer pipe issue.
Any thoughts?
Was it an OEM part? Seems unlikely it would leak unless you did something wrong. Are you sure that's where the leak is coming from? Seems more likely it would be the valley pan itself or maybe the transfer pipe. When the pipe leaks, coolant comes out of the weep hole on the front of the water pump.

If your coolant pipe was leaking you'd see it out of the weep hole as mentioned above
