I removed mine last summer in order to replace the a/c evaporator.
IIRC, pretty much just a bunch of phillips screws to get the sides off. Remove the shift knob (unscrew it) and pull off the shifter surround. I think releasing the glove box straps and letting it hang down further may give a little more working room.
Then I think remove the stereo, a/c knobs and their retaining nuts and the face plate and you should have just the evap core and a/c fan housing sitting exposed.
