Yellow Brake light

What a wonderful day. I took myself and the wife out for a long drive in my 2003 2.5 Z4 this afternoon. Usually I will get a couple of lights come on, the yellow brake light and the traction control light. They will go off for a bit if I turn the car off and on. I was so happy to not have them come on over the course of our 80 mile drive. I don't have any idea as to why they didn't light up today. I almost think it was because the temperature was only 45 degrees. What the heck, any one have any ideas ?

I know it wasn't or has not been the battery as I use à trickle charger. One thing different this time was that I put my key on my toothbrush çhàrger. I had read on the British forum thàt you could çharge your key fob by laying it across the top. I dont know, but whatever I did I'll do it àgàin to see if I get the sàme results.

A diagnostic scan with a BMW scan tool/software should provide a clue to solving that mystery.

I do plan on getting my own diagnostic scan device. Any ideas on brand or model that someone less mechanically gifted would have no trouble with.
