    Valve cover gasket replacement PITA

I have a 2008 528i and I am about to finish my valve cover gasket replacement but there is one piece I am not sure how to fix. I broke the engine air intake breather hose because of the crappy connector and I bought a replacement.

To install this replacement do I have to take the whole intake off? If so that looks like a serious PITA. Is there any other way to fix this? I really dont want to take off the whole intake... Anyone had this problem before?

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply but that is not the right system. The piece that is broken is linked below (and is what I bought). It is mentioned in the intake manifold replacement (on pelicanparts.com) as the part that breaks 99% of the time... and well... it broke. I am surprised there is not more discussion about it. I have been trying to search, but maybe im not searching for the right thing?

Take off the belt, take out the alternator (you must replace the 4 bolts if they're aluminum). Reach in and disconnect the hoses and replace.

Thanks White94RX! Much better than taking off entire intake manifold!!

front connector came off easy. The middle one I am still struggling with. Once again considering taking off the manifold. There is just no room in there!! Any advice on the middle breather hose connection? I am so close to finishing this nightmare!!

You could break off the locking tabs since you're replacing the hose anyway. And when going back together, I always spray the o rings with silicone spray or other lube. WD-40 would work.
