    Hood won't open

Last night I installed my new depo gen 4 lights from bavtoys & I noticed my driver side light wasn't flushed in all the way but when I closed to hood on it, it forced it down. Now my hood won't open, I tried to pull the lever and after using a lot of force the cable broke off from the lever. I've tried pulling the cable with vise grips but it won't give out. Is it just stuck on something? I can't seem to figure it out.

    thnks

No luck pulling up on the hood itself after/while pulling the cable? That's how mine currently is, after pulling the cable I still have to yank the hood hard.

There's no room at all for me to get a grip to try to pry it open, I keep pulling hard on the cable with some grips and its not even pulling, I'm using a lot of force too.

You need to push down on the hood while someone pulls the cable so the latches will release, then the hood should come up.

This just happened to me granted, mine was wrecked. The passenger side latch gets wedged in the receiver when there is any pressure on the hood. Bose grips on the cable and pull HARD while someone pushes and pulls the hood. It'll slip out after your buddy pumps up and down a few times.

Whatever you do, be careful with your now broken cable. It's much easier to replace if you use the existing to pull the new cable through. There's a diy on here somewhere. As suggested, having someone push and pull on the hood while you work the cable should free it up... Then lube up your latches once it's open.
