Hello everyone im from Sweden so if my english isn’t very good thats why.
Anyways. I have a problem with my remote key doesn’t work with my e46 320 2004. It works good if I unlock it with my key in the door and all doors unlock. I have tried initializating my key and changed battery without succses. I have mesured with a multimeter on the cables that goes from the antenna amplifyer (the thing under the rear spoiler). And I get a indication every time I press the key. So it isnt my key or the antenna that is bad. What could be the problem?
When this happened to me I had to have the key re-programmed at the dealer.
Are you having any other electrical or electronic issues with the car? Cold temperatures are very hard on batteries. Google “BMW E46 hidden OBC functions.” Test #9 will show you the voltage as seen by the engine computer (DME in NMWeze).
If all else is fine I suggest you check the electrical connections at the antenna amplifier. It’s located in the driver’s side “C” pillar.
Also check fuses 49, 52 and 60. They’re for the locking system.
No other electrical problems. Forgot to say that it is a touring. Do you know where the antenna amplifier is located on the wagon?
Does antone know where the wires from the antenna goes?
The antenna amp is in the roof liner. It’s item #2 in the link.

Ah okey, what is number 5 then cause it says antenna amp too?
I think #5 is the AM/FM amp. It seems the touring has different amps than the other 3-series bodies.
Aha okey that is probably it. Going to check the wireing today thanks
