I think I'm going to come. My friend is encouraging me to go with him, he will be attending with his monster E24 turbo, and will probably eventually turbo my car as well. We live 20 minutes from each other and will probably convoy together.

Man, I am really sorry. FWIW, the first E32 I was serious about had the same thing happen. There is a car out there for you!

Well, looks like we're up to 7 for E32's that are registered for Vintage 2018. That includes Zieg. Any others who haven't registered yet?

I’m still undecided if I wanna bring my 6 or my e32, dirk pointed out that there are a lot of 6’s registered already. I think I may bring my e32 as it’s much more comfortable. Will decide next week

    Hi All;

The possibility of a caravan from Florida to The Vintage has been mentioned in this thread. I guess the first question is what day do you intend to leave Thursday or Friday. Second question is where to meet? ( Daytona off of 95 has been mentioned) Third question is what time to meet?

My plan right now to leave from Eustis Thursday Morning but that is always subject to change.

Please let me know your plans.

    Bob,
I think Thursday is more preferable than Friday. We're not far from each other so we could set off and maybe meet those coming from South Florida in Daytona. Timing would be the big factor. Any thoughts?

    Abdul

Thursday works for me. Joanne will not be making the trip this year. My Dad has had some medical issues so she is staying with him allowing me to attend. I will be traveling with a friend from So. Florida and will meet up with him before I can leave so not sure of timing yet.

I have not heard from Serge or Jeff as yet.

Hey just saw this, been busy over the past few months with the E32 and other things. I have a hotel reserved about a mile or less from the main hotel for the event. The E32 has a list of things it needs before I go but should be done well in advance.
    - Front shocks
    - Rear beer can bushings
    - Valve cover gaskets
    - Injectors
    - Intake reseal

Hotel came out to be quite expensive for 3 days, $500 approx. :\ I may have to go for the last 2 days instead. It all depends on when everyone is actually leaving to the event. Is everyone wanting to be there for the first day? The 17th? Or just for Friday and Saturday?

    Serge,
The main event is on Saturday in Hot Springs, I believe there is a meet up at the Clarion for registration sign in. I think Bob is wanting to head out on Thursday? I would want to do the same so that we have Friday to chill before the main event. I myself plan on heading back Sunday because I was only able to secure a 4 day weekend from work.

I'm also in the process of working on my valve cover gaskets/intake manifolds, O2 sensors, and spark plugs/wires. Should be ready before the trek.

Sounds good, time wise, are we looking to meet up near Daytona and make the drive to arrive that Thursday night, sleep and relax on Friday? Im thinking this may be best considering the 10+ hour drive up there.
Also im thinking of bringing spare belts, hoses, spark plug leads and possibly extra fuel pumps just in case. I will have my tow vehicle at home waiting to pick up a trailer (Nissan Armada) just in case something more serious happens. Tool box of course.

Meeting up in Daytona sounds like a good plan. Daytona is about an hours drive for me. What time do you want to meet?

Serge the Saturday show is great BUT the real fun is at the host Hotels at night. I expect to go to the Clarion on Thursday night if possible. Friday has a number of events going on including some self guided tours that we could make. Resting on Friday is most likely not going to happen for me.

I will be staying in Hendersonville about 10 minutes south of the Clarion Hotel. Abdul are you planning on camping again in Hot Springs? Where are the rest of you staying?

Definitely no rest on Friday. The Foundation in Greer, SC, is going to open their 2002 exhibition on that day, and I will be heading there. The BMW Zentrum might also be worth a visit since it's not far from the Foundation. Last year they had quite a few cars from all periods on display. Right now their website says that it's closed.

I'm going to stay at the Super 8 Asheville Airport which is a 10-Minute walk from the Clarion.

The foundation event should be great I am planning on buying tickets but If I remember correctly the Zentrum will be closed.

    Bob,

I will not be camping out in Hot Springs this time around. I have a reservation for Comfort Inn across the street from the Clarion. Also my wife may or may not be joining me for this trip we will see.

Looks like we're up to 9 E32's registered. I believe that is more then we has last year. Also looks like only 50 spots remaining for Vintage 2018. If your planning on registering nows the time.

Side note, should I buy tickets to the CCA Foundation event?

Yep, today in two weeks we'll be in Hot Springs. Last year five out of the seven E32 in attendance parked together, and I think that was very nice. Should we try this again this year? In order to park together we need to arrive together. Maybe we can meet at the Clarion and drive in convoy.

Since the field will be organized differently this year, I'm wondering whether we should leave at the Clarion a bit earlier than last year.

I'm hitting my head against the wall trying to figure out this vibration issue. I am rushing to find a solution but nothing in sight yet. I am hoping to get it fixed to make it otherwise ill be missing out this year. I just bought new motor mounts should come in this week, and will replace the rear brakes that are acting strange when backing up and has me thinking they might be too tight, causing the vibration. I will also be re-inspecting the front end. If I don't get it solved by Monday of next week ill let you all know here. I was really looking forward to this, its a week after my birthday too, would have been nice.

A long shot, but any chance you guys that are attending the vintage have a few extra door access plugs?
the oval shaped plug that reveals the slide retainer for the exterior door handle cover ?

I misplaced 3 of mine while replacing the door handle gaskets.

This evening we met with and confirmed seven E32 will be parked together on the field.

@mjimport, we haven't seen you tonight, but it would be nice if you could join us as well. We will meet at the Clarion at 9:15.
