    Trying to make a decision

is it the offset? I like the slightly wider stance.

i need to get some wheels for my sons e30 (also stock and staying stock) but I’m having a hard time deciding on how to upsize and achieve the wider stance. Can I go up to 16? What’s the offset I’m looking for that gives me width and also lower profile tires that make the car so crisp?

You can go to 16" wheels on the car. Most of the wheels are going to be 16X7 and the tires will be wider as well. If I can help let me know.

Thanks Jim, you sure can help if you don’t mind. I think the Beyern 15” is a +27, problem is, I don’t know what the magic number would be to get more of what I like without being too much.

i like a slightly wider look where the wheel/tire sticks out a little bit (might be flush) and I like a wider tire.

my car right now has a good width appearance to me but I feel that the 15” wheel with a 205/50 tire looks like it’s a car that needs to be lowered and I don’t want to lower it.

would a Beyern mesh 16” with the slightly positive offset and a 215/50 tire work? I’ve read a lot of threads here and at revlimited but it is rare for anyone to keep a stock height and come right out and say “x, y, and z wheel/tire looks just right”.

the stock bottlecaps look funny to me because the wheel is set inside the wheel well, makes the car look skinny at the bottom with a wide body.

this pic is my car right now and it’s really close to what I would want. What do you think?

Unfortunately all of the tires that fit the car correctly are being discontinued. The size I ran on an E30 and they looked good and were wider than stock were the 205/55R15. You will not need to have the car lowered with this size. I do not carry the Bayern wheels so I am not sure what they have. I do know that a 15X7 with a 25mm offset will fit great on the car. The 16X7 with 25 to 27mm offset will also work well. The best size in 16" is 205/50R16.
If I can help let me know.

Ok Jim, what I really like are the

    ASA AR1 wheels in 16x7
kumho ECSTA ps31 in the size you recommend at 205/50.

my concern is this, will my speed/odo be accurate?
tirerack says I need spacers, why and how much?

im a 48yo dad/guy that knows very little about these things. I know all about stock/oem stuff.

    Are there any discounts?

The diameter of the 205/50R16 is the same as the OE tires on the E30 BMW so speedometer stays correct. If I can help let me know. It looks like I have everything in stock.
