Finally back on the road after more than 2 years sitting filthy in the carport Just as sluggish and fat of a car as I always remembered haha. I badly need to do some kind of sound deadening in the trunk space... With my slightly opened up mufflers, the trunk area acts like a giant resonating chamber and it just sounds so boomy in the cabin. Anyone else ever insulated their trunk space somehow? Maybe the spare wheel cavity too hmm.

Looks like an anthracite sport pkg with chromeline interior at a great price! Maybe a canadian spec with dark wood trim and if you look closely at pic 3, you can see the chromeline door sill...

Been driving it regularly again after a couple of years off the road, it's nice. But I am now fully reminded of the hundred and one little annoyances that need fixing that I never got around to before I parked it!!

Pan ready for reinstall, new gasket, and I cleaned all the stainless steel hardware. Setting the pan on jack stands makes it 10x easier to install. This gasket had undersized holes, so all the bolts were threaded in beforehand. Took all of 10 minutes to bolt it on.

Dipstick/fill Tube secured to subframe/engine cradle with a stainless steel zip tie to maintain at least 1/8" gap with the exhaust. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one.

Gonna re-check pan bolt torque for the 4th time in the morning. I REALLY don't want to futz with this ever again.

The engine cover appears to be for an E65/E66. I like the newer style. Not sure if it is an exact fit or not for the 4 pegs that are used with the E38 engine cover. Apart from the spacing of the 4 peg holes; I wonder if additional trimming of the engine cover is necessary to get a clean fit. Regardless, I like it! The E38 engine is pretty bland looking.
