Just depends because many prefer the sport short. Either way, the 01 sport model of either will always bring the most money compared to prior years/and or non sport.
IMHO the 750 will always be worth more than the short sport no matter what year for the simple fact that there were so many more desirable options that were available as standard on it for instance the extended leather, seat heaters, window shades, etc. A 15k mile 750 is super low mileage and a great buy imo, even at that price, also the sport models on the 750 were purely cosmetic.
With that said, as an E38 enthusiast myself, I do see the appeal of the short sport, but I wouldn't buy one over a 750 at that price point, unless it either had a manual swap or an S62 in it.
Although, I do agree that the 01's will probably fetch the most.

The 750 just jeeds a 3.15 diff, lowering Springs in front and some mparallels...

If I had it to do over again, I'd get an 01 750 sport. The ONLY reason I've not bought one is because I have an '01 740 msport alpine on black. If it were not so rare, it'd be gone.

Yup, stratus.
Price is way too high.
What would a fair price be? Not that I’m in the market for a swap, I don’t have the skill or space to even attempt such a project. I just know that some people on here like to swap that motor in.

With Rod-Bearings done on that S62 engine it sims like a ok deal, but still - for 8500 you can get engine+tranny+LSDiff+all the related components for a full swap, aaaaand even then you’ll end up spending additional $ on some other parts to go along a swap. OR you can buy a high-mileage M5 for that 8.5 and you can sell leftovers and use that for additional parts

Your current situation is not your final destination
So it has new rod bearings because he says so? No paperwork? Yeah, ok..
