Actually now I see it, but that is odd, I thought shorty sporty were produced only in 2001. Maybw its a late 00'???

yeah, Short Sports started with the facelift for the '99 model year. They had the black rockers until '01, when all the E38s got body colored lowers. We're just used to seeing the '01s because they seem to be the most desirable, being the last model year and having some of the more desirable options like the widescreen nav in the later '01s. But '99-00 Sports are mechanically identical to the '01s, AFAIK.
