If I sit on it till tax season or the spring it probably would go higher, timing here is the pinch I think. Christmas is not the best time for most folks to buy cars. But, its been replaced, so I dont really need it hanging around.

BTW guys, I'm probably going to be a little more sparse on this thread as I finally found my E38! I just took delivery of a super nice 2000 Oxford Green/Beige 740i Sport, formerly owned (for the last 16 years) by the co-founder of the SoCal 7's. I was really hoping for a 2001 sport, but the previous owner of my 2000 sport already did most of the upgrades (and then some) except for the body colored bumpers and rockers. Low mileage car (86K), and just a great history with tons of records. I'm looking for 3 original finish rims right now to replace the chromies (I've got the original spare, and another minty 8" front wheel already), but the car doesn't need much of anything beyond the usual E38 TLC. It's been a LONG road getting here, this being my 22nd BMW in exactly 8 years, and my 4th E38 sport shorty in the last 2 years. But I'm so happy that I finally got an E38 I plan to keep, along with my other 5 Oxford green BMWs. I'm done (my wife still doesn't believe me).

$19k, guides not done, floppy map pockets, ugly front seats, weird standard shifter, aftermarket corner lights, chrome front bumper trim. Man that dude is reaching.

Yeah, I'd still say his price is too high even if he were asking half of what he is ($9500). A real sport (with all the stuff he didn't swap) in as good or better condition would still be less than he's asking. I paid less than half of his price for my late build 01 Sport and the only thing his has over mine from what I can tell is less miles (well, and his is a better color). Basically, the only things that car has going for it compared to an average cheap E38 is low mileage and a clean body.
