Edit:
Included is also the following:
Driveshaft, all hardware, tranny mount, old clutch if you want it, original flywheel, 633 flywheel, clutch master (probably just core).
I have noticed a small impact crack in the bell housing (pictured with my finger) that has absolutely no effect on function. The shifter foam is falling apart, but all pieces are there.
Alright,
if you guys saw my previous post, you know that I must unload some things.
Well, here it is - the desirable Getrag 265/6 3-piece out of an '85. Approximate mileage is 170k. Included are pedals and shifter (needs bushing, nob, and boot). Shifts smoothly, stays in gear, generally runs well and quiet. You could do an input shaft seal job on it for a good measure before refilling and bolting it in due to its age.
Asking $900. Not sure how to ship this beast. Free pick up in LA.

Good luck with sale, seems like a real bargain. I'm not interested in buying, but I do have a suggestion for shipping.
I've started shipping diffs and transmissions with plastic storage totes (based on excellent suggestions at the HAMB and GarageJournal). I just shipped a complete 265 from PA to CA, including the bell housing and shifter assembly, via FedEx for about $200. I used a heavy-duty garage storage tote ($12@Target), added a sheet of OSB cut to fit in the bottom. I held it all in place with light duty plastic strapping ($50@Amazon), and zip-tied the lid onto the tub. All up weight was 125 pounds gross, the clerk didn't even flinch when I brought it in. Those totes are surprisingly durable.
I'd definitely do it that way again. If I was in your shoes, I'd ship the flywheel & driveshaft separately since they might not be needed.
Thank you guys for your help. I fixed the picture link - sorry, I didn't know that photo bucket is no good anymore.
The packaging in a plastic tub is genius.
I think somebody should bite. It's basically a complete swap set up - just add your new consumables. It's a pretty good deal. If you don't care for the drive shaft, flywheel, clutch - it will save on shipping. However, I do have the lighter flywheel, which is nice. Please, ask questions, request more particular pix.
That's a screaming good deal, really wish I was closer! I have a buddy looking for this exact setup, he wants to finish up a 5-speed swap on an '86 635CSiA.
will this work on an 1987 635. Or is the bell housing different?
I think he has the complete kit, and IMHO it's a bargain. This will convert any late-model E24, bolts right in. You'd need a few other parts; proper driveshaft, maybe a wiring harness, clutch components, shifter mount etc..
That 265 bell housing will bolt onto any M30 or S38, any year, any variant.
Thanks for the reply! I was asking because I ran into this article.....

Just wanted to make sure it would work! Boilt on.
G265/6
- Used on '82 528e and '85 535i. Also on '85 6/735, '80-'81 E12, '81-'82 6/733s and E30 M3s. Considered the strongest transmission available for E28’s. Is easily identified by a removable bell housing which allows use on M10, M20 and M30 engines, as long as the correct bell housing is used or reused. All except M3s have a sheet metal shifter support. It’s use in '85 M30 powered cars was reportedly dictated by the short life of the 260/5 in those cars. Overdrive 5th
