BMW 530d 2004 E60
With active steering and Dynamic drive.
The other day after driving for 6hours with no problems at all except alot of snow in the road and suddenly my active steering and DSC lamp lit up. Beeing far from home i could only check the oil fluid and trying a reset of the system (turning the wheel all the way to left and then to the right, then to the center).I did hower find out that there was little fluid on the reservoir. So i bouth a can of CHF 11s oil and topped up. Still have the warning lights.
Later when i got home i plugged my diagnostic laptop and fired up DIS/GT to have a look at the fault codes and try to reset the system.
There where fault code on the DSC and The ASR module:
DSC : 5EBA
5F62
ASR : 6140
614A
CE96
CE97
CE99
Ok i erased the codes and tryed to reinitialize through the service function in DIS. All starts good but when i got to what i think is the last part of the prosess it trowes a program error code (like it lost connection) .So i thougt maybe the sensor had shut down on the steering rack motor. i ordered a new oem part and replaced the old one. But no difference at all.
After reading alot of post on the internett where the problem turned out to be the SZL unit witch have the steering angle sensor integrated , i descided to replace it. Got a used one and coded it to the car with my vin nr and did a software update on it also just to be sure (Im using winkfp) but no difference except also now i have an airbag light probably just forgot to disconnect the battery or something i havent investigated the fault code for airbag.
Tryed resetting again and again but i stops the same place anyway.
The wheel is also a little bit turned to the left now when driving. This was not the case the day it happend. This happened after i tryed to reinitialize the first time i think.
Anyone ?
