I got domlight from X5 for my Car, it fits in the opening but does have different plug on it, any of you ever had retrofitted this in his e38/39?

E38 have square 6-pin plug, X5 have long flat 8-pin. I’ll post pic later

Big job, Rear brake bulb replacement. Meant a trip to the auto parts store which is always tough
Took the passenger door panel off to see if I could get the window to go up (it's down about 5mm and won't move at all with the button). Did not figure out the problem - should have done more pregaming.
Did however, find that the screw tabs holding the Loudspeaker Box were all but one broken off and it was hanging by one screw and the wires. I think I'm going to try and 3dprint the repair for this one. Which there is no hurry since the audio system doesn't work at all anyway . Finally got a chance to try a cassette tape yesterday (had to go to three shops to find one!) and it doesn't work either. So I will continue to drive in silence. Good for listening to all the weird car noises I guess
replaced battery with Bosch H9. Also had to reset remote.
Replaced headlight washer pump and front right fender splash shield. Lubricated sunroof tracks. Got INPA to connect to everything but DME. Still working on getting DIS to recognize all the modules on the car.
Not today but last saturday with some help of my friend. The e38 got a new fuel tank and transmission(used).

Made some wooden low ramps. 20mm planks. Now I can actually jack the car up with my jack, so I lowered the BC Extreme coilovers.
image6.jpg
So I'll post the information no one ever answered to my questions. Then maybe people will have an honest idea about what BC Extreme low's can do and HOW they do it...
I screwed the fronts down as far as they go. Only screwing in the shock mount, and NOT screwing down the spring perch (so they still maintain 3mm preload and full shock travel). They measure 71mm between lock nut.
image4.jpg
The rear I screwed down, but not maxed out. Probably not that far from it though... It measures 89mm between lock nuts.
image5.jpg
And here's how it sits. About 85mm from the ground behind the front wheel and 100mm from the ground in front of the rear wheel [around the jack points].
image1.jpg
image2.jpg
I'm actually really happy with it, with these wheels on. Australian minimum height is 100mm anyway and I don't want too much attention so this height is good for a daily driver. The Extreme lows will easily raise above standard height and lower than my legal minimum.
I don't want to sag the spring down, I want all the adjustment in the shock mount, so if I want lower I'll be machining the shock and mounts to go lower (if anyone wants information on that, let me know and I'll do a drawing of the required machining to make it work), OR there is a part number for shorter shocks, but they have less travel so keep in mind what spring rates you want to run.

Picked up some spares that were going into trash. Gotta go back tomorrow and get the last one.

replaced the radiator and confirmed that dinan state 1 was done.
Bought another one. 750i individual to go with the 740i Sport we already have.
today is a good day
Driver sided angel eyes and fog light originally installed at Umnitza were working intermittently. Problem corrected.
Added an oil pressure gauge next to the oil filter housing. Always bothered me that there was no oil pressure info, only the dummy light.
Resized_20180317_141234.jpegA small bracket to hold the gauge mounts to the unused 3-stud bracket on the accessory rail.
20180317_142927.jpegPlumbed using a 12mx12mx1/8 npt fitting and 1/8" copper line.
Gauge shows 50 psi on warmup after oil change.
Resized_20180317_145311.jpeg
So now I know with accuracy that at idle, hot and in gear, the engine holds 18 psi.
No load at 3000 rpm the oil pressure is 65 psi. Very pleased with those numbers.
I'm regularly under the hood, so this was an easy way to get the info without the complexity
of running a gauge line to the dash/cluster and trying to find a suitable location.

The gauge is from McMaster Carr, part #3850K3.
The fitting that inserts between the oil filter housing and the oil light switch
is a M12x1.5 M12x1.5 (male/female) with a 1/8" NPT female port. I bought it from
Silent Manufacturing (seller) on Ebay. Checked his listings but didn't see the exact part.
You could contact him, or source it elsewhere. I have seen them other sites.
The connection 1/8 copper was sourced from Amazon, just an oil pressure gauge kit.
I cut and bent a scrap piece of 1/16" stainless steel for the bracket. It mounts on the
unused studs just behind the filter housing, in front of the PS reservoir.
Never knew what that mount was for, perfect for this application.
