Most of times If the car is heating only on one side then the auxilary water pump is broken or damaged, etc.
But first try to disconnect the harness of the heater valves, typical they should go into the Open position and provide the car with the engine heat, If that works then you know the issue and its quite easy to replace ( atleast on a 725 ).
Theres also a Chance of air being trapped in the heater core or generally in the cooling system. If the car's warm, put the heat all the way up to 32°C(89.6? °F) and Put the Fan Speed to the lowest setting, then rev up the car to 3k rpms 2 - 3 times, then increase the Fan speed and hold the rpms as high as you would normally when you cruise on the freeway. This way helped me getting the air out of the heating system.
Incase nothing works and everything stays the Same, then unfortunately you have to replace the heater valves or try fix them, Theres a repair kit for the valves or you can also replace the auxilary pump itself with a surely working one. Incase you decide to buy the heater valves, i bought them for 25€ including shipping If that helps in any way. Good luck!!
I just installed yesterday a set of Meyle HD front arms (uppers and lowers) along with sway bar links. Bought the sway bar bushings too but they looked ok and I was really tired (had to do a pick-a-part run to get the bolt that I bent!) No more clunking when braking or driving over a sharp bump and no more shimmy around 60. There is still a slight vibration which can only come from tie rods or idler arm so that will be taken car of later (probably spring). I was going to do a transmission service but when I got under the car realized that I got a kit for a 4HP30 and I have a 4HP24 so that's on hold BUT did noticed a cracked guibo and squished transmission mounts so that's also getting on the to-do list.

Thanks, so I removed the harness to the heater valves and it seems I have no change in symptoms. This indicates the driver side valve is not functioning as it should now be in the open position?

Yes, there's a high chance of the heater valves being faulty. What about the passenger side? Does it heat while the harness is removed?
Yes that's the repair kit, but maybe try finding a new used heater valve that works since that may come cheaper than the repair kit itself. And there are risks if you decide to repair your old heater valves. Just like Myro said, mind the screws, they tend to brake off, and the plastic brackets.
Might have bested the SAS... time will tell.
Did a few punch list items: washer pump and level sensor, reaimed nozzles, cabin air filters, license plate light. Red triangles are gone... sort of miss them... but I am sure they will be back.

Last two weeks I’ve done:
Front struts
Sway bar links
Oil pan gasket
Motor mounts
Today I tackled the much needed paint correction and sealed with Sonax spray and seal which is everything everyone says it is. I got it on promotion through a detailing buddy and I promise it’s the easiest way to get a glossy finish and giving good amount of protection
Unsure. My dad might be taking it. I can tell that my 6k price was low for what’s going on in south Florida. My cars twin, 130k miles no TCG work, sold in two days $6500. Don’t even know a good price point for mine. Car is almost to the point of needing nothing. Also put in a new expansion tank. Still have a minor oil leak I’m trying to chase down but it’s very small amount
Right before Christmas one cold (for CA) morning I started the car and the secondary air pump started screaming bloody murder. Drove it that way for a couple weeks since I was busy with family stuff over the holidays. Today went to local JY and there sitting without a front bumper was a 01 740iL I knew well (took some part for the M62TU for my sons e39) and the SAP was ready to go, a couple 10mm bolts and $20 later I was in business.
When I removed the bumper I realized all the DINAN hardware for the SAP was still installed, so got my CAI I bought from AquillaBMW and installed everything. Runs just fine. Does it have more power? Not that I could tell just running around the neighborhood. I'm of the opinion, like others, that a CAI does little to increase power, the software is where the money is at. But it looks cool.
Also, I had the parts in the garage so...
New sway bar links, New sway bar bushings, New wishbone struts. Along with the new traction struts and new complete steering links/pitman arm/idler arm etc, I did before Christmas, the front suspension is complete. Tomorrow it gets an alignment.

Got 2 new key fobs from the dealership at $300 a piece. It is worth is though to remotely lock the doors.

Nice Purp... you're gonna like that sound. One of the first mods to the sled, after a MkIV.
where do we start... bought the car a few months ago and have gone through it to fix everything I could find wrong (and preventative) so I could enjoy it and have it be as reliable as possible:
- all 4 struts and mounts
- complete suspension rehab front and rear (all control arms, thrust arm, carrier ball joint, tie rods, steering pitman arm, etc etc)
- monsoon speaker upgrade
- Valve cover gaskets
- Timing cover gasket
- Vanos Gaskets
- intake manifold gasket
- valley pan gasket
- Front Crank Seal
- Timing Chains, Guides, & Tensioners
- Water Pump & Thermostat
- Fan Shroud, Fan Clutch and Fan
- New Spark Plugs, and oil change
- new all 4 tires
- paint correction and ceramic sealant
- 4 wheel alignment
- GROM audio DSP adapter with Aux input
- Fixed glove box latch
as expensive as this car has been, I must say, it is an absolute pleasure to drive. On the highway it's like riding on clouds!
drove it today
