Is it possible to swap an M5 cluster into a 540i/6? Would the tach read correctly? Would the oil temperatur gauge (the reason I owuld like to do the swap) work, or would I need to run additional wiring?

I'm looking into the same. You'll need to recode it with NCS Expert to read a V8 signal as opposed to a I6, but I think the speedo should still be accurate. Oil temp gauge would need wiring to a sender.

I'm told that you actually don't need to code, but just swap the plug. Not sure if that's accurate, my m5 cluster arrives next month.
