It's a nice feeling to be able to move onto the 'next' step.

I'm still running a 7lb spring with an eboost street 2 controller, and haven't really messed with it much. Hitting a 10 psi peak at complete WOT

...And it hasn't gotten old. Pretty sure it can take or keep up with anything around me. But I took Butter's advice. I have other slower vehicles to drive daily or often. When I need to, I take the E36 out....

Glad you got it sorted !

no leaks! no strange nosies! just an N/A motor that finally came alive! or maybe thats me behind the wheel now????

I turned it up to 60 percent duty cycle tonight. this will be the highest I try and run truboost with the small spring installed. In 2nd gear wide open pull, I saw flashes to 8lbs. So im sure in a higher loaded gear, it may go up to 10lbs... this car is TOO much fun, im ruined.

It continues to turn heads, everywhere... most likely my front mount sticking wide open and straight exhaust, I don't care, im loving it.

Glad you figured it out and enjoying boost. That being said, have you turned it up to 20lbs yet? lol

got out and did some pulls today, one of these is with meth and the other is not AFRS are in the 11's with meth and without. the car is running 9.75 lbs right now and im loving it, im sure soon ill be turning it up. I do have a strange random lean condition at idle after small cruises with deceleration in neutral idling the car will randomly go way lean at idle and stumble for a quick second before correcting itself almost like my ICV is failing or hoses are still sucking shut. when the car stumbles it smokes for a brief second, must be the oil backing up in the big journal bearing turbo as the car dips into the 500 rpm range. this issue is very random and does not happen often. I did have all my valve seals replaced when the head was in the shop, my turbo drain does have some "S" shape in it with a little tiny bit of a flat section.

    CLICK

heres a list of the codes that popped up randomly after my random, briefly lean AFR idle / RPM dip.....

Did you have a check engine light with those codes?

    I did

I have a feeling my idle / lean issues are from my ICV sticking, I’ve cleaned it multiple times but when I pull it out sometimes it takes a hard shake to get it free each time so I think I’m going to replace it. Makes sense since revving the engine sends it back to normal idle height and also the issue is very random at best

As as far as the gasoline issues I’m a loss ???

My iac has been doing wonky things like that too also throwing idle speed plausibility code. The other codes you have should have been deleted items, evap & post cat o2 sensors etc.

Retorque head tonight and I’m gonna bump her up to 13-14 lbs with water Meth system in check, installing a fan relay so I can run my aux fan on a switch inside when I want. I’ll get some good GoPro videos here soon. Feels good to have the car coming together

even at 10lbs the car was faster then a well maintained f80 m3 by a good driver, granted we only ran 2nd and 3rd gear

Switch is a bad idea for fan... not sure on your ambient temps but it doesnt take long to over heat. I run a pusher and puller constantly. Or relay the aux with a low temp fan switch and low temp therm.

Replace the icav. I tried cleaning mine made it worse. Replaced it with a good unit and it problems went away. No codes

Boost will also create more heat. Especially since your top mount. And your IC is blocking air flow. Which is why I run them constantly

True about the comparison against f80 m3 though. People dont wanna believe it until there in the passengers seat and the pedals to floor all the way till 4th. It's actually pretty amazing a car this old is soo capable. I had a good friend who drives a cobra daily who was very skepticle but
made his admissions with time. Jealously more than anything

I kept my mechanical fan, cooling is great, that thing pushes tons of air. The aux fan on a well fused switch should be fine, don't see the difference between that and my meth system on a switch both blade fused and relayed. My new hood has huge vents, the temps inside the hood should be great with a massive opening above the turbo. The thought of a aux fan on a switch is JUST on demand stop light or traffic enabling extra air on hot days when im idling alot.

Ehh... not sure on your ambient temps where you live. If it's cool steadily wouldn't worry about it. Just have to remember to turn it on

I had it on a switch when I lived on the OBX, NC for awhile and it overheated because I forgot to turn it on :-(

You should see around a .5 AFR drop with meth on. Go heavier on the meth. Not 50/50. Do a 70/30 or a 65/35.

Are you tuning to Meth or just dumping in with the current tune?

    to be honest

I realize we could most likely add some timing and pull some fuel to get the perfect meth mixture but I just wanted to spray to add some safety factor on a pump tune with our Seattle lack of e85 issue... so yes, im just spraying on a base tune. I used the medium nozzle, the car completely ate it up and loved it, so im going to try and use the bigger nozzle and see were the AFR's stand. if butters is right ill be too rich around 11.1-11.4 when I Start spraying with the big nozzle

does anyone know were do I want my wastegate to start "cracking open" ??? on true boost there is a spring setting that asks when you want your wastegate to begin to crack open? say im running 10lbs, would I want the gate to open around 8lbs?

That's not "too rich". Totally fine. Nice and safe. Remember its an average of the 6 cylinders. So, if this was a 3 cylinder and #1 was 12.0 #2 was 11.0 and #3 was 13.0 your gauge would read 12.0 and you would think your dead on. But, not so much. So, keep it on the rich side. Don't be afraid of that. 10.9-11.4 is where I like to be. I couldn't give 2 shits about the measly X% of power I'm leaving on the table. Keep it safe, keep it together. Once you crank that thing up to 17+psi, nothing in the road will catch you anyway. Unless you got a ton of hot rodders around.

What would cause 1 cylinder to be leaner then the others though?

A vacuum leak or could it be mechanical ?

Exactly, until someone puts an O2 sensor equally spaced on each individual cylinder, I have no belief that they are all equal. Or anywhere near that.
