Took the car out for some pulls last night with the big nozzle from AEMs meth kit. Car dropped .4 points I see 11-11.3 on initial drop when boost comes on and then smoothens out to about 11.5 at WOT some of my load values will make the car see slightly higher 11.8, I’ll need to log those higher AFR values. There is no more driving this car in the rain, haha even at 10lbs 3rd was slipping and the BOV was screaming on every lift off
Turbo drain- I need to get some better quality -10 drain fittings, it was the only part of the build I used eBay fittings and they are leaking a little so I bought some -10 earls pros from jegs. When they arrive it’s going to be fun taking the hose off the pan full of oil to build a new drain line....
as for my sticky ICV, has anyone ordered parts from these guys?

FCP comes up a lot, you should be fine.
Before buying an ICAV for $170.00 I would recommend posting / looking around on here for one. Bought one for like $30, basically new.
FCP euro is great and offer lifetime warranty. They are also in Arizona so shipping to WA is quick.
Spent almost $1K with FCP not too long ago and the transaction was smooth coupled with fast shipping. No complaints what so ever from me and I'd buy from them again.
Turbo E36 M3 with all the things..
I have 3-4 of these. Don't pay $170.

Following. This is exactly the manifold and turbo I want, just seeing if its worth driving almost an hour for E85.
I had this delema, I did not want to get stuck somewhere with a tune setup for e85 with no pumps around - so I went with pump gas and AEM meth. I’m super pleased so far so don’t be afraid of meth/pump combo

If this is the manifold and turbo of anyone’s choice you’ll need to buy a Cummins flex drain and purchase a steel -10 male bung to weld onto the end. The rest of the hose will be a 45 degree off the Cummins drain to a 90 at the aluminum bung on the pan. Make sure these are male/female hose end fittings.
trust me the Cummins flex drain is the shit and makes life so much easier, super happy with it

cars really coming together, cannot tell you how happy I am I did this project at the moment.
I really got hands on with painting and did some of the base coats and clear coats as well as half of the prep job, I do suck at masking. We are going to cut and buff the new and old paint surfaces this week and see how she shines. I had my 90 degree nozzle at the back of the head give me some scares my head gasket was leaking but it was just a loose hose at the back of the head/90 nozzle leaking along the head gasket, thats been fixed. the idle control valve didn't solve my random at stoplight brief lean condition at idle, I cant find any hoses leaking boost/vacuum or sucking shut, also did this on both fuel pumps ive ran so far, so I'm assuming my injectors are being picky at idle for this issue. cant find anything else wrong with the build at the time, so im enjoying it. brought some friends out for a ride and they cannot believe how hard these cars pull with a big turbo even in lower boost like this.
Since the car has been cleaned up its breaking necks everywhere, 3.5" open exhaust slammed with a turbo popping through the hood must be to blame haha or maybe the BW whistle has em I don't know but im loving it, all the work was worth it in the end to say you did it and didn't buy it finished or settle for a turbo "kit", just put your head down and do it.
need to possibly move the intercooler back 1" to make clearance for the brake duct/charge pipes to not press on the bumper pulling the sides down..
that BW whistle is a real thing, for 550$ if anyone is considering this turbo for your s52, you should stop considering and just buy it for the price its been amazing. Boost builds by 3200 rpms and reaches peak near 4,000

Looks good! Did you repaint the whole car of just the new pieces?

Recently had some warm idle temp's around 210 degrees that would sometimes reach 213. Under WOT and normal driving conditions the car would cruise at 205 degrees, this seemed really warm to me. I checked my Tstat and I had a 92C in the car which must have came factory. That puts the release temp at 198 degree's.
With help from Butters and Zack, I went to a local autoparts store and grabbed a 180F or 82C tstat and installed in the car. Bleeding the car is always a pain in the ass, the car wanted to heat up, so after jacking up the front end, opening both cap and bleeder screw, heat on full blast and a few shutdowns the car was bled.
Now the car runs at 194 degree's under daily driving and 196ish under harsh WOT, hot idle is 199 degrees.
feeling much better about the temp's and a simple 20$ tstat fixed my worries. seems I've seen some people ok with temps 210-220 before they "cool down" but in my case I just wanted the car to be slightly cooler.
I did buy a Koyo 48mm 3 core radiator in case this summers temps bother me and my old Mishimoto cant keep up.
current cooling system is
New OE clutch fan
Mishimoto Radiator
Mishimito Relocated and Elevated Expansion Tank
Steward Water Pump
82c Tstat and Aluminum Housing
Mishimoto Hoses

You had asked about meth and the drop in AFR awhile back. Figured I would let you know what I'm seeing with the largest nozzle.
I was at about 11.6-11.8 at WOT now I see anywhere from 10.5 (low) and 11.3 or so (high). Which is great.
Awesome thread, and congrats on the build! Enjoy the boosted life!

yup nice with the AEM meth on the big nozzle im seeing 10.9 on initial kick down and will lean out to 11.3-11.5 depending on the pull/load variables. the numbers are sweet and the car feels strong! I don't think ill be doing any pulls without it since the car likes it so much I might as well leave the system on full time now.

thanks brother! once you go boost theres no turning back, only turning up!
Yeah, I leave it on as well.
I figure my egts are probably high with such a small backhousing anyway

BUMP!
back on the forums after a break from my season in alaska and few weeks at home
had a chance to dyno the car and was very pleased with my results considering how low my boost pressures were and how much HP the car made. inside the car boost gauge read 12.8 PSI with mid 11 AFR's.
Im enjoying the hell out of the build at this PSI right now or I would have risked it and turned it up into the 14's-15's to make my goal of 500wheel, im sure the car can handle it but since the block isn't built, im chilling for now.
So far the car did hang with a 2013 track edition R35 GTR on 105 octane, running good trans and motor software with 22-23lbs of boost, 3.5" exhaust with a very experienced driver in 3rd and 4th gear.

Good numbers. Doesn't the low compression allow for higher boost levels and more power? Mid 550 torque? Turn up!!
