Yes, yes that's all happy and sundry, but my little 525i needs snow to be able to power slide like its v8 brethren.

Before last years' winter, I scored some 1 yr old Michelin X-Ice tires on these Style 33's.

I love pressing the DSC button, and driving the car in the snow at non-snowy-road speed. Slippin' and a slidin' around.

Same as summer. I live in Central California. We don't get really cold weather. That was a trip I took up to a friends house at around 3000 ft above sea level and a freak hail storm. It is December 30th today and it is 65 degrees outside.

Maine's state mineral: NaCl (aka road salt). Though I wouldn't take my other cars to a car wash, our Touring being a daily driver goes through often during the winter. Unfortunately, the wash was closed yesterday due to the frigid temps; -13 F in the morning and never getting over 8 F during the day.

LOL...and I thought Ohio laid claim to that...!! I hate trying to maintain cars up here in this stuff...makes everything a challenge...

...no clue as to why brake lines rust out behind the right front wheel here either.....

Aw Come on! If I didn't drive my wagon when there's salt on the road, I will drive it only 6-8 months a year. That is just not enough fun unfortunately!

Dedicated snow and ice tires, DSC off, heated seats full on... Perfection. Wax the car with "Crystal Diamond Fire Glaze plus" and don't worry about the salt on the body/paint.

Car washes are cheap enough to clear the undercarriage once a week or more if needed.

That DSC off idea is a head scratcher for me. I tried to go in straight line in a snow covered parking lot with DSC off and the progress was not linear at all!
I do understand how it will be helpful to turn it off if you get stuck though.
